Late Sunday afternoon as my Mother's Day was coming to a close, I thought what better way to say thank you to the family for a FANTASTIC day than making my homemade Kissy cookies. The kids (and dad) love them and they really are easy to make.
Give them a try and your family will think you are SUPERMOM. Enjoy!!!
Irresistible Peanut Butter Kissy Cookies
Recipe from Thattoddlertown.blogspot.com
¾ cup Jif Creamy Peanut Butter
½ cup Crisco Shortening
1 ¼ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1 ¾ cup flour
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
Bag of Hersheys Kisses
Heat oven to 375°. Combine peanut butter, Crisco, light brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended. Add egg. Beat just until blended. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended. Roll into a teaspoon-sized ball, coat in sugar and drop 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 7-8 minutes or until starting to brown. Immediately put kiss on top. Makes about 3 dozen.
Kate’s Comments: Jif Creamy Peanut Butter works the best (I’ve tried them all). Don’t flatten like regular peanut butter cookies. Keep them in ball shape. Serve with big glass of milk.

Love these cookies! After putting the kisses on the cookies, I put them back into the oven for about 30 sec - 1 minute. It softens the kisses but not melts them. Then the kisses stay soft!
Yum, these look so good! Peanut Butter and Chocolate are always great together. Thanks for sharing at Showcase Your Talent Thursday!
This is one of my favorite cookies, I love to make them at Christmas time! Your cookies look wonderful, the picture makes me want one... or a couple!!!! I love the phrase at the top of your blog - "today is a perfect day for a perfect day", what a great way to start the day with that thought!!! Hope you have a perfect day! :o)
Try this recipe, it really does work. and it's much easier and much healthier.
I cup peanut butter
