Let the Practices Begin

Today marks the first day of the Fall soccer season for Sir T.  He was not a happy camper when I said "time to start getting ready".  I know he will be back in it to win it once the routine is in place BUT today was not easy (on either of us).

We had to drop my van off this morning for some brake work.  Willy took it to get the July inspection done and the inspector said "I'll pass you but the back brakes are really bad".  Hmmmm seems if there is ever a reason to NOT pass someone, brakes should be it.  Oh well, we got it in this morning AND $1,000 later, it's fixed.  I can't complain really (but I will).  This is the first BIG repair to the car in over 7 years but it still hurt (and right before our vacation).  Well I guess I can have peace of mind that we will have no car worries.

We had our friends over this past Saturday night.  It's always a good time to visit with the Cs.  They have a son that is right in between Sir T and Sir K so it is all good when we have a visit.  The kids disappear and the adults can actually carry on a conversation and have a drink (or two).

Lady A did something fantastic on Sunday night.  I walked into the kitchen and found hair all over the place.  Before I could put it all together, she came around the corner with absolutely no bangs.  It's horrible.   Makes me sad every time I look at her.  The best part of all is when I picked her up at school today the teacher said "great news, picture day is in 2 weeks".  UGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Hey if these are my biggest problems, LIFE IS GOOD.

It is GORGEOUS here at the ToddlerTown.  The temperature is 76 degrees and I am loving life.  I hope you have a sunny day in your future.
Until next time . .

Merriment Monday

I hope you all had a blessed Easter spent with family and friends.  Ours was nice and quiet.

In other news . . .
  • Sir T starts his first full week of outdoor soccer with his first game on Sunday.  He is having a play date after school and then it's off to soccer practice at 7:30.  I hate practice that late.  He doesn't get home until about 9:30 and that just seems to late to be out on a school night.
  • Sir K is starting his first week of soccer as well this week.  His schedule is not completely set yet but I believe he has one practice a week with a game on Saturday or Sunday.  He is also having a play date after school today.  His best friend went down to the Keys for spring break and brought him back something little from his trip.  Such a nice friend.
  • Lady E also has soccer starting this week.  She has one practice a week with her first game on Saturday.  She is going to Daisies after school today as well.
  • Lady A is doing great.  Since she took the week off last week from school, she wasn't that excited to get back to her friends.  It lessened the blow slightly to see an Easter basket in her cubicle which the teachers had prepared last week for the children.
  • Willy and I, I BELIEVE, are finished picking out everything for the bathrooms.  We finished up the paint colors and granite counter tops on Friday.  This morning the workers are putting up tile in the boy's bathroom and completing the heating system repairs.  It's really starting to come together.  Again, we are still so happy with the process.
That's about it.  I hope you have a wonderful week and I'll catch up with you soon.  Remember to count your blessings.

Woke up this morning to about 3 inches on the ground and it's still snowing.  Isn't it March 25th?  I will say it's beautiful.  Have a great week everyone.

Partying with Pippa

Hi Everyone.  The ToddlerTown just got back from Richmond.  We ended up driving down Sunday morning to spend some time with Pippa and her family.  We had a ball.  The kids (all 8 of them) played SO well together.  The adults enjoyed a great dinner Sunday night feasting on marinated chicken, steak, salad, broccoli and CHOCOLATE CAKE for dessert.

After we ate, the kids played upstairs and the adults watched two movies (man I haven't had that much adult interaction in a LONG TIME).  We rented the movies Premium Rush and Ted.  I kind of liked the movie Premium Rush.  Willy and I had seen Ted before at the theatre but since Pippa and her hubby hadn't seen it, we watched it again.  I had forgotten how raunchy it was.
Anyway, the best part of the trip - this little guy:

This is Buddy
This little guy got SUCH a workout from our kids.  I was a little worried when we got there how Lady A would reaction to him.  He has doubled in size since the last time I saw him.  She did great.  They bonded right away and Lady E and Lady A played with him basically the WHOLE time we were there.  Dare I say the ToddlerTown might be ready for a dog???  Let me be out of diapers for A LITTLE BIT LONGER.

Status Check for a Monday Morning

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a good start to the week.  Here at the ToddlerTown it's been quite a struggle to get back on track.  The kids are all "I don't want to go to school" and it doesn't help that mommy and daddy are all "I don't want to get up" BUT we did and we are moving along.  So it's working for the moment.

Sir T had a basketball game this weekend which went better than expected.  See he hasn't picked up a basketball in weeks.  Prince Willy was very worried how he was going to perform (I guess he expects more from his son because daddy is the assistant coach -- who knows).  Anyway, we didn't win and it was clearly evident that no one on the team had picked up a basketball in weeks.

After the game, Willy's parents came over to exchange gifts with the kids.  We did a really low key lunch (make your own sandwich fun) and then opened gifts.  The kids were so happy with the presents.  The grandparents did great this year.  Lady E got the knock off Uggs she'd been looking for and Sir T got the EXACT indoor soccer shoes he'd been eyeballin'.  All in all it was a beautiful get together.

We have sports camps, RE classes, basketball and soccer practices on our plate this week.  AND something really exciting.  Willy and I are meeting with an architect on Thursday to (hopefully) draw up our plans for the upstairs area.  Since we moved in 10 years ago, we have envisioned some major renovations to our upstairs.   Renovations that include making an existing hall bathroom part of the girl's bedroom, creating a new master bathroom suite for us (nothing elaborate but still nice) and updating another hall bathroom into the year 2013 (right now it looks like something from the 70s).  I'm really excited to see if our vision can actually happen.  I'll keep you posted.

That's about it for now.  Please hug harder and love more.  Count your blessings every chance you get and I'll catch up with you soon.

Merriment Monday

This cracks me up

I hope this doesn't disrespect Elmo.  God knows he's been a staple in this house for over 10 years now.  Willy and I have watched the movie Welcome to Grouchland probably over 300 times in our parenting careers.  We do love you Elmo.

I hope you had a fantastic weekend.  Ours was perfect except for a quick ER visit (details to follow).  Stay safe and warm and I'll catch up with you soon.

Merriment Monday

Willy had to work most of the weekend which left me in charge of the troops.  I was SO happy on Sunday when I got to sit on the sofa and catch a cat-nap while the 4 dears played together quietly.  Everything was going great until I woke up after about 30 minutes in a panic because I feared maybe it was TOO MUCH QUIET.  I went upstairs and did my once-over and everything looked o.k. (surprisingly).

It wasn't until this morning when I got to work that I realized someone had gotten into my purse, opened up my makeup case and smeared everything all over the inside of the case and my purse.  All my lipsticks, mascara, secret beauty creams, etc. that make me the beauty that I am were destroyed.  Now I know what that mystery stain was on the carpet that NO ONE had a clue as to what it was or where it came from.

Oh the price of a half an hour nap.  I hope the make-up of your day starts better than mine.
