Cleansing the Soul

I haven't done this in a while but it's time for a confession.  Hop over to E, Myself and I and see who has been naughty or nice (and remember don't judge).

  • With our vacation SO close I can taste it, I have completely checked out at work and I think people are starting to notice.
  • Yesterday my boss was sick so I ran over to the mall for a extra LONG lunch and some shopping.  It was very therapeutic.
  • My 3 year old cut her own hair a few days ago and it breaks my heart.  She basically cut off all her bangs - peach fuzz style.  I feel awful but I can hardly look at her.  Please God let it grow back fast.

Midweek Confession

I'm linking up with E, Myself & I for her awesome segment called Midweek Confessions.  If you haven't stopped by her blog, please do.  It's a great read.

So off I go with my confessions:

I'm finding myself jealous of everyone and everything lately.
  • Maybe it's the fact my house is in complete disarray right now from the construction;
  • Maybe it's the fact we didn't get away for Spring Break;
  • Maybe it's the fact I'm still FAT;
  • Maybe it's the fact that soccer season is dragging me in 3 different directions;
It just seems everyone's living life and I'm just constantly struggling along.  Please don't judge.  I love everything about my life.  It just gets overwhelming from time to time.  THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES.

It could also just be Spring Fever.

Midweek Confessions

I'm so excited E, Myself and I is back this week with Midweek Confessions.  I missed it.  So off I go:

I went to get my haircut the other day and ran into 3 moms from the neighborhood.  If you REALLY knew me, you would know that my hair is a VERY personal thing to me.  It has to be just right every time I walk out the door.  To have someone watching me get my hair done is UNACCEPTABLE in my book.  All four of us had a great conversation BUT I secretly felt like "get me the hell out of here".  I couldn't wait to get gone.  Nothing against them.  I hope they didn't notice - - It's just a hair thing -- really.

I'm in one of those moods the last few days.  You know the one.  The one where EVERYTHING bothers me.  I was getting my coffee the other morning as Willy was eating his breakfast.  I wanted to come across the counter and hit him over the head with a frying pan he was making so much noise eating.    Most of the time I can handle his eating habits but once a month it really GETS TO ME.  This was one of those moments.

Midweek Confessions

Wow.   It's been quite awhile since I participated in this cute segment started by Elizabeth over at E, Myself & I.  Let's see how I do.

  • On the way to work this past Monday, I was stuck at a light for what seemed like FOREVER.  When it was almost my turn to go, a shiny BMW pulled halfway into my lane and cut me off.  Ok NOT awful for this town -- I can live with that.  As the light turned, she didn't go.  I waited patiently and when I realized she was texting, I about lost my mind.  You go out of your way to make an illegal lane change so you don't have to wait in line like the rest of us plebeians and yet when it's time to go, you are too busy TEXTING.  The best part is she made the light and I missed it AGAIN.  I have never wanted to jump out of the car and curse someone out more in my life.  BUT I DIDN'T.

  • Ever since returning from our 2 week vacation in the Outer Banks a few weeks ago, I have been so disengaged at work.  I have been strolling in a TAD late every day and slinking out a TAD early.  I just can't get my head back in the game.  No one has really noticed (thank God) but I'm feeling really guilty about it.  But I can't stop doing it.  Hopefully, this will change soon and I'll be back to my old committed self.

Midweek Confessions

It's been a couple of weeks since I participated in E, Myself and I's Midweek Confessions but don't get too excited I've been pretty good.  Here goes:

  • I never thought I would say this but if I could afford to have a nip and tuck I would.  After 4 kids, I just feel like no matter what I do I can't lose a pound or firm up anything.  It's very frustrating.  I am not a happy person when it comes to my self image right now.

  • What started out as a joke with the kids about how old I am has now turned into me successfully shaving 5 years off my age.  I've never been one to be upset about my age but I am loving my new "fake" age.

  • I have NEVER watched The Bachelorette but flipping around the channels a few days ago I caught the season finale.  I think I am having a mid-life crisis (see above AND more on that later) but I instantly fell in love with Jef Holm.  I even looked him up on Facebook and found his page.  Ok now I'm beginning to scare myself.  First Philip Phillips and now Jef Holm.  Good grief.

Philip Phillips
Cutie pie

Jef Holm
Such a sweet face

That's it for now.  Check out Elizabeth's blog.  It's a great read.  See you next time.

Midweek Confessions

I am linking up with E, Myself & I for her AWESOME Midweek Confessions segment.  I really look forward to this each week.  Somehow it helps me put things into perspective.  Here are my confessions:

1.   I feel like I have become SO jealous of everyone around me.  I think it's because I haven't felt good about myself emotionally or physcially in a very long time.

2.   I have been dying to get my haircut for weeks now BUT with 4 kids tugging at me (and my full time job) I just can't seem to find the time to get it done.  So this morning when I noticed that Willy had gotten his haircut I lost my mind.

3.  Lady E had a kid's party to go to a few days after her birthday bash 2 weeks ago.  I didn't have time to get to the store so I re-gifted something that she got as a present.  When she asked me what the present was I made something up so she wouldn't get sad it was actually one of her gifts.  A real proud moment for me let me tell you.

Midweek Confessions

I'm linking up with E, Myself, and I for her Midweek Confessions.  Here goes:

  • I am having a party for 13 6 year olds this Saturday afternoon and I haven't done anything to get ready yet.  I feel like I'm letting Lady E down.
  • I am also having an end of the season soccer party for 12 10 year olds (and their families) on the same day and I haven't done a darn thing to get ready for that party either.  I feel like I'm letting Sir T down.
  • I don't usually answer the phone at night because with 4 small children why bother but for some reason I picked it up the other night without looking at the Caller ID.  It turned out to be a solicitor looking for donations for a charitable organization.  When he asked "can I talk to the head of the house?", I answered "my mommy's not home right now" and hung up.  OK now I'm letting myself down.
Please don't judge.

Midweek Confessions

I'm linking up with E, Myself, and I for her Midweek Confessions.  Here goes:
  • Last week on the way to work there was a terrible traffic jam on the toll road.  I never saw what caused it but I patiently sat there for close to 2 hours.  While I sat there, I witnessed car after car cheating the system by driving down the wrong side of the road to bypass the mess.  It finally got to me.  So when we all finally started moving, I sped up to cut a "cheater" off in his tracks.  The cheater almost went up onto the curb but hey if you can't follow directions maybe you shouldn't be driving, right?  I was SO proud of myself for holding my ground UNTIL I looked over and the person that I had run "almost" off the road was a 70 year old man.  UGH -- I'm such a bad person.
I better stop at one confession this week.  I'm  still feeling bad about this incident.

Midweek Confessions -

I'm linking up with E, Myself, and I for her Midweek Confessions.  Here goes:
  1. Last Friday as I was entering the local grocery store for the 4th time that week, I was approached (again) by an employee selling raffle tickets for charity.  I fumbled around in my purse and then just said "I'll catch you on the way out".  I then proceeded to grab my groceries and sneak out the opposite door so as not to run into her again.  Is that bad?
  2. I have a crush on Phillip Phillips one of the finalists on  American Idol.  Sadly, I'm old enough to be his mother (I think).  Is that sad or bad?
  3. Yesterday while trying to get money out of the ATM, I noticed my card had expired.  I asked Willy if I could borrow a few bucks but he forgot this morning to give it to me.  So I went straight to Lady A's piggy bank and BORROWED $5.00.  Is that sad, bad or pathetic?
Go link up with E and confess away!
It's cleansing.

Midweek Confessions - Part 2

Here I go again.  I'm linking up with E, Myself, and I for her Midweek Confessions.  Let's hope I don't look too bad (again).

  1. My boss guilted me into attending a Sexy Slumber Party at her house last week.   I don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't TOYS.  I have never been SO uncomfortable in all my life.  I didn't know what half the stuff was and I have 4 kids.
  2. I didn't tell Prince William that I was going to a Sexy Slumber Party because I didn't want to get him going if you know what I mean.
  3. At the weekly staff meeting yesterday, I couldn't look my boss in the eyes (see 1 above).  I was so embarrassed.
That's not too bad, right?
