My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson

I fell in love with Kelly Clarkson's music the first time I saw her on American Idol.  This song would be one of my favorite songs to work out to if I had time to work out.

Guess this means you're sorry
You're standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
All you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you'd never come back
But here you are again
'Cause we belong together now, yeah
Forever united here somehow, yeah
You got a piece of me
And honestly,
My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you
Baby I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin' to pick a fight
I know that I've got issues
But you're pretty messed up too
Either way, I found out I'm nothing without you
'Cause we belong together now, yeah
Forever united here somehow, yeah
You got a piece of me
And honestly, My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you
Being with you Is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn't miss you
But I can't let you go Oh yeah
'Cause we belong together now, yeah
Forever united here somehow, yeah
You got a piece of me
And honestly, My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you
'Cause we belong together now, yeah
Forever united here somehow, yeah
You got a piece of me
And honestly, My life (my life) would suck (would suck) without you

You Don't Know Your Beautiful by One Direction

\
You Don't Know Your Beautiful
A cute little song that reminds me of my beautiful neice
You're insecure,
Don't know what for,
You're turning heads when you walk through the door,
Don't need make-up,
To cover up,
Being the way that you are is enough,
Everyone else in the room can see it,
Everyone else but you,
Baby you light up my world like nobody else,
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed,
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
If only you saw what I can see,
You'll understand why I want you so desperately,
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
Oh oh,
That's what makes you beautiful
So c-come on,
You got it wrong,
To prove I'm right,
I put it in a song,
I don't know why,
You're being shy,
And turn away when I look into your eye eye eyes,
Everyone else in the room can see it,
Everyone else but you,
Baby you light up my world like nobody else,
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed,
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
If only you saw what I can see,
You'll understand why I want you so desperately,
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
Oh oh,
That's what makes you beautiful
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na
Baby you light up my world like nobody else,
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed,
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
Baby you light up my world like nobody else,
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed,
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
If only you saw what I can see,
You'll understand why I want you so desperately
desperately),
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe,
You don't know,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
Oh oh,
You don't know you're beautiful,
Oh oh,
That's what makes you beautiful

Everybody Talks by Neon Trees

"Everybody Talks"
Newest song on my Ipod
Hey baby won't you look my way
I can be your new addiction
Hey baby what you gotta say?
All you're giving me is fiction
I'm a sorry sucker and this happens all the time
I found out that everybody talks Everybody talks, everybody talks
It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chit chat
Take me to your love shack
Mamas always gotta back track
When everybody talks back
Hey honey you could be my drug
You could be my new prescription
Too much could be an overdose
All this trash talk make me itchin
Oh my my sugar
Everybody talks, everybody talks
Everybody talks, too much
It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chit chat
Take me to your love shack
Mamas always gotta back track
When everybody talks back
Never thought I'd live
To see the day
When everybody's words got in the way
Hey sugar show me all your love
All you're giving me is friction
Hey sugar what you gotta say?
It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chit chat
Take me to your love shack
Mamas always gotta back track
When everybody talks back
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks...back
It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
Everybody talks Everybody talks...back

Finally Friday Forum

I could not have made it this far had there not been angels along the way.
-Della Reese

A very happy Della Reese's birthday everyone.  I love the above quote for SO many reasons.  I think I have mentioned before on this blog that when my grandpa passed away back in 1981, I felt he became my guardian angel.  On Earth, he was a very gentle and kind man and from as early as 7 I felt a strong connection to him.  I think he understood me.  He always took the time to talk to me and listen.  I remember him always making me feel good about myself (and who wouldn't love that).  He constantly reaffirmed that I was a special girl and could do anything.  Thirty years later I still think about him and his words to me.   It might sound strange but through my 20s and 30s he helped me from the other side emotionally and spiritually.  Whenever I did something dumb (and who didn't in their 20s and 30s), I always felt he was there to comfort me.  His presence was real and important to me.

I remember the last time I felt his presence.  He came to me the night my grandma (his wife) passed.  I was lying in my bed alone feeling sad and he appeared to me.  He wrapped me in his arms and told me he loved me but he had to go now and  he was gone.   As awful as this encounter sounds, I felt comforted somehow.  I'm not a whack-job.  I believe with all my heart that he watched over me and cared for me from the other side for close to 20 years.  WHAT A GIFT!!!  There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him and know in my heart that I couldn't have made it through without angels.

When I heard this song a few months after my grandma's death, it reminded me of him.  I know that God was working through him.  I have attached the lyrics and the video.   I hope you enjoy it.

Until next time, count your blessings and enjoy your family and friends.

When you walk down the road
Heavy burden, heavy load
I will rise and I will walk with you
When you walk through the night
And you feel like you wanna just give up, give up, give up on the fight
I will come and I will walk with you
Walk with you
Until the sun don't even shine
Walk with you
I'll be there all the time
I tell you I'll walk with you
See you through
When you walk from this place
And you gotta go to meet him face to face
Take my hand and I will walk with you
Oh, oh walk with you
Till the clouds fade away
I tell you I'll walk with you
Each and every day
Oh yes I'll walk with you
Oh, oh oh when nobody cares
I'll be right there by your side
If all your hope is lost
I'm the one that's gonna help you see the light
Just look into my eyes
Please know you're not alone
I'm here,
I'm here by your side
Walk with you
Walk with you
Walk with you
I'll be there all the time, I'm gonna walk with you
Walk with you
I'll be there until the clouds just fade away
Walk with you
I'll be there every day, every day, every day, every day
Walk with you
I'll be with you all the while
Walk with you
Be right there through the longest mile
Walk with you
I will walk with you yes I will, yes I will, yes I will, I will
Walk with you
I will walk with you
I tell you I'll be there and I will
Walk with you
Believe me I'll be there and I'll walk with you, yes i will

Against The Wind by Bob Seger

This song was one of my favorite songs to put on after a good night out with friends back in my hay-day.  Brings back great memories.

It seems like yesterday
But it was long ago
Janey was lovely she was the queen of my nights
There in the darkness with the radio playing low
And the secrets that we shared
The mountains that we moved
Caught like a wildfire out of control
'Til there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove
And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
I remember how she held me oh so tight
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then
Against the wind
We were runnin' against the wind
We were young and strong, we were runnin'
Against the wind
The years rolled slowly past
And I found myself alone
Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends
I found myself further and further from my home
And I guess I lost my way
There were oh so many roads
I was living to run and running to live
Never worried about paying or even how much I owed Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time
Breaking all of the rules that would bend
I began to find myself searching
Searching for shelter again and again
Against the wind
A little something against the wind
I found myself seeking shelter sgainst the wind
Well those drifter's days are past me now
I've got so much more to think about
Deadlines and commitments
What to leave in, what to leave out
Against the wind
I'm still runnin' against the wind
I'm older now but still runnin' against the wind
Well I'm older now and still runnin'
Against the wind
Against the wind
Against the wind
Still runnin'
I'm still runnin' against the wind
I'm still runnin'
I'm still runnin' against the wind
Still runnin'
Runnin' against the wind
Runnin' against the wind
See the young man run
Watch the young man run
Watch the young man runnin'
He'll be runnin' against the wind
Let the cowboys ride
Let the cowboys ride
They'll be ridin' against the wind
Against the wind ...

Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd

(Prince William's favorite song.  Reminds him of his mommy.  Very sweet!!!!)

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it'll help you some sunny day

Oh, take your time don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
Go find a woman you'll find love
And don't forget son there is someone up above

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me son if you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you my son is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me son if you can? Oh yes, I will

Boy, don't you worry you'll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you my son is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me son if you can?

Baby be a simple, be a simple man
Be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man

Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble

WATCH ON YOUTUBE:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AJmKkU5POA&ob=av2e
(One of my favorite all time singers is Frank Sinatra.  Frank's song The Way You Look Tonight was "our song" at our wedding.  So you can probably figure out why I love Michael Buble.  He's nice to look at and this song just makes me smile whenever I hear it)

I'm not surprised, not everything lasts
I've broken my heart so many times I stopped keeping track
Talk myself in, I talk myself out
I get all worked up then I let myself down

I tried so very hard not to loose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought of every possibility

And I know some day that it’ll all turn out
You'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid that I give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet

I might have to wait, I’ll never give up
I guess it's half timing and the other half's luck
Wherever you are, whenever it's right
You'll come outta nowhere and into my life

And I know that we can be so amazing
And baby your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility
Somehow I know that it’ll all turn out
You'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And promise you kid I'll give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet

They say all’s fair in love and war
But I won’t need to fight it
We'll get it right and we'll be united

And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility

And someday I know it'll all turn out
And I'll work to work it out
Promise you kid I’ll give more than I get

Oh you know it'll all turn out
And you'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And promise you kid to give so much more than I get yeah
I just haven't met you yet

I just haven't met you yet
Oh promise you kid to give so much more than I get
I said love love love love love love love
I just haven't met you yet

So Emotional

When I heard the news on Saturday night that Whitney Houston had passed away it broke my heart but sadly I wasn't surprised.

I grew up listening to Whitney and her music.  I truly remember the first time I saw her perform on television and I thought she was absolutely beautiful.  Her rendition of Do You Hear What I Hear is one of my all time favorite Christmas song and I'll never forget the chills she gave me (and America for that matter) when she sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV.  It was such a moving moment for this country.

She was a true talent who has left us way too soon.  God bless her soul and her family as they move through the grieving process.  I hate when we hear these kinds of stories BUT it definitely opens the door to talks with the kids about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how they can destroy your life.  Have that talk today with your kids!!!!!!

Here is the video of Whitney at the Super Bowl in 1991.
