JOIN ME AT THE PARTY:  Wow Us Wednesday (Savvy Southern Style)

1 – 12 oz. Package of Oreo cookies
1 – 8 oz. Package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 - Package Wilton’s Chocolate

Finely crush entire package of Oreo cookies.  Mix thoroughly with softened cream cheese.  Roll mixture into balls about one inch in size.  Chill the balls for about fifteen minutes.  This makes the dipping easier.

Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave using the medium heat setting.  Do not use the high heat setting as it will burn the chocolate.  Stir chocolate once or twice while melting to evenly melt the chocolate.

Dip balls into melted chocolate and set on wax paper to harden.

Store in a covered container in refrigerator for freshness.  This recipe makes about 75 truffles.

KATE'S COMMENTS:  For variations, I also use Nutter Butter Peanut Butter cookies or Oreo Chocolate, Mint or Lemon filled cookies.  I freeze the balls before I coat in chocolate.  It makes it easier for me to dip and place on the wax paper.  I also use white chocolate in the winter time and put sprinkles on for decoration.
