Thursday Status Check

 

 

So far I give this week an A+ here at the ToddlerTown.  It's been kind of quiet around here and I like that.  Sir K's soccer season ended last weekend so no practices there; Sir T's toe injury has benched him for 7-10 days so no practices there; and we didn't have Religious Education this week because of school being closed on Monday and Tuesday. 

 

We had our parent/teacher conferences on Monday and they went really well.  We are so blessed to have children that are normal, well adjusted and smart.  All 3 teachers said basically the same things.  We heard comments like: 

 

your child is so respectfully

your child is happy

your child gets along with everyone

your child is kind and considerate

 

For me, that's what I wanted to hear.  I wanted to hear that my children 'fit in" and that they're "normal".  I was so proud of them.  Willy wanted to hear about the grades.  He's all about the grades.  He wanted to hear "straight As" and "over achiever" AND none of them disappointed daddy.  We don't need rocket scientists or Pulitzer prize winners roaming around our house (Willy has a different view on this topic).  I want my children to be well adjusted, happy, healthy, and respectful little people.  All the teachers said that they give 100% and that is all we can ask of them.  Sir T got all 3s and 4s (I guess that's comparable to As and Bs); Sir K got all 3s and 4s (needs a little bit more help in reading); and Lady E got all 4s with a few 3s peppered in (I tell you she is an over acheiver -- I love that about her).  Anyway, no one is off to Harvard anytime soon and that's o.k. with me.  We were BOTH very proud of all of them.  So far it's a great year for everyone.

 

On another note, I started my Christmas shopping last week.  Don't put me up on a pedestal or anything.  It's just I HAVE to work it this way.  One, it would be too much for me to start late and two, I have to spread it out so Willy can't figure out how much I actually spend on Christmas.

 

That's about it.  I have a very busy day of grocery shopping, gift shopping for a couple of parties this weekend, getting everything together for a charity stopping by on Saturday morning, and of course the usual laundry and house chores.
